Medicare disclaimer

The mail starts months before your 65th birthday and does not stop. FIG Benefits helps Tri-Cities residents understand how Medicare works, what their choices are, and what deadlines matter, with a licensed agent who lives and works here.
What Is Medicare?
Medicare is federal health insurance for people 65 and older and for some younger people with disabilities. It has several parts:
- Part A, hospital insurance, covers inpatient hospital stays, limited skilled nursing care, hospice, and some home health care. Part of Original Medicare.
- Part B, medical insurance, covers doctor visits, outpatient care, certain medical supplies, and preventive services. Part of Original Medicare.
- Part C, Medicare Advantage, is an alternative way to receive your Medicare benefits through a private insurer, often including Part D coverage.
- Part D adds prescription drug coverage.
- Medigap, or Medicare Supplement insurance, helps pay costs Original Medicare does not cover and cannot be combined with a Medicare Advantage plan.
When Do I Enroll in Medicare?
Timing matters. Your Initial Enrollment Period surrounds your 65th birthday, the Annual Enrollment Period runs each fall, and special rules apply for people still working past 65 with employer coverage. Some people are enrolled automatically because they already receive Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits; others must sign up on their own.
Which path fits depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, how you travel, and how you like to budget. Those are personal questions, and they deserve a personal conversation with a licensed agent, not a website quiz or a call center script.
How FIG Benefits Helps
We explain Parts A, B, C, and D, Medigap, and enrollment windows in one conversation without jargon. We never collect health details online; that happens with a licensed agent. We help you enroll and we are here every year after when cards, bills, or plan changes raise questions.
How to Get Started With Medicare
Medicare is complex coverage that you should not have to navigate alone. Reach out to a licensed agent at FIG Benefits LLC to learn more about your enrollment process today.
